Punxsutawney Phil may have predicted 6 more weeks of winter, but we’re warming up here at Ski Shores Café. With such mild February weather, why not spend your Friday nights by the lake at Family Movie Night?
We’ll keep the kids entertained with a different family-friendly movie each Friday on our projection screen, along with a fully lit playscape. You can have playtime too, with our full bar, plenty of yummy food and Happy Hour from 4-8.
Here a schedule of the movies we’re showing this month:
February 3: FernGully
February 10: The Smurfs
February 17: Rango
February 24: Hookwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil
They’ll take you back to childhood…. if your childhood included a bucket of beer.
What better way to enjoy this not-so-cold-winter than by heading to Ski Shores Cafe on Fridays for an evening the whole family can enjoy?! Family Movie Night means kids can play in our fully-lit playscape while adults can take advantage of a full bar and delicious menu.
Wait … there’s more, our fire pit back in action! Sit around the fire to warm up and roast marshmallows for s’mores. Kids love it, and you will too!
Best of all? Both kids and adults can enjoy a family-friendly movie on our large projector screen with Lake Austin in the background! Here’s what we’re showing all month long:
January 13: Cars 2
January 20: The Smurfs

Shark Week. That’s right 24/7 of nothing but what we would say are the greatest animals on earth – SHARKS. Best part? We’ve got the tv’s tuned to and the big screen showin‘ all the fascinating, bloody, gory, interesting and scary clips Discovery Channel has to offer.
This will help you get pumped for all the shark action:
- As sensational as shark attacks are in newspaper headlines, the reality is that you’re more likely to be bitten by another person than a shark.
- It’s a shark-eat-shark world … sometimes even before the sharks are born. When some species’ embryos begin to develop teeth, they eat their unborn brothers and sisters until one shark remains, an act known as intrauterine cannibalism.
- Almost 50 different species of sharks have light-emitting organs called photospheres. Sharks use the light that comes from these organs for camouflage and to attract mates.
- Hammerhead sharks may look like the victims of an evolutionary blunder, but their oddly shaped heads, called cephalofoils, really make them better hunters. The electrical sensors the sharks use to pinpoint their prey are spread out along the cephalofoil’s wide surface area, giving them better prey detection skills.
Step 1: Prepare yourself with these videos.
Step 2: Get here, beer in hand.
You don’t wanna miss this action!

Our Lake Austin Summer Concert Series has been nothing short of amazing so far. What’s better than cold beer, good friends, a lake view and some live music? Nothing.
Live music on our stage every Friday, Saturday and Sunday is on for the rest of the summer.
Awesome singers and bands – like Zach Torres, Trimmed and Burning, The White Stones Band, Bobby Earle, Bob Cheevers, Shelley Mac and Jeff Tveraas – have already rocked the stage. But, man, we’re just getting started!
Walt Wilkins came out last Saturday and we were blown away. The man knows how to play some real Texas Country music. We expected nothing less – Walt’s written and recorded seven albums and our customers were totally digging his tunes. Boats even dropped anchor by stage to chill on the water with some great music. Thanks to everyone who came out to see this Texas legend!
We are stoked for Seth Walker to be out on Lake Austin soon. An Austin-based band mixing up traditional blues with a New Orleans flair. Come out by land or by boat, grab a bucket of beer and hear Seth on the 23rd.
